Established in 1995, the Sri Lanka Association of Vessel Operators (SLAVO) stands as a distinguished body in the nation’s maritime industry, representing the interests of foreign principals and major container shipping lines.
With an exclusive membership comprising 10 leading international shipping companies—including MSC, Maersk, OOCL, Evergreen Line, Bengal Tiger Line, X-Press Feeders, Maldives State Shipping, Far Shipping, Feedertech, and Global Feeder Shipping—SLAVO plays a pivotal role in facilitating over 70% of Sri Lanka’s container traffic.
SLAVO actively engages with governmental agencies and industry stakeholders to address challenges and enhance operational efficiency within the shipping sector. The association’s commitment to excellence ensures that Sri Lanka remains a strategic hub in global maritime logistics.
